Nashville Adventures: Music, Magic, and Memories with Boomer

Hello Ruff Explorers!

This weekend trip to Nashville, TN with Boomer and James was an unforgettable adventure filled with music, food, and fun! We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Antioch, where we were greeted with some delightful dog treats and a handy pet poop bag dispenser, which was a thoughtful touch that showed they appreciated our furry companions. We were also pleased to find that they had 5 Tesla chargers and 3 EV chargers available, which came in handy since we rented a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe hybrid from Enterprise. It made keeping our vehicle powered up during our stay a breeze!

We kicked off our journey by exploring the vibrant streets of downtown Nashville, soaking in the lively atmosphere. The live music pouring out of honky-tonks was irresistible, and we couldn’t help but stop by a few to enjoy some incredible performances.

One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Opry Mills Mall, where we decided to dine at the Rain Forest Cafe. Although they are not pet-friendly, Boomer, being a trained service dog, joined us, and everyone was very accommodating. We enjoyed some great food surrounded by the unique rainforest-themed decor, making the experience even more memorable.

A standout experience was our visit to ICE at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, where the theme was “Frosty the Snowman.” The stunning ice sculptures and intricate displays brought the beloved character to life, creating a magical winter wonderland that we thoroughly enjoyed exploring.

We also had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Grand Ole Opry, which is not pet-friendly but does allow service dogs. Boomer was very welcome there! Did you know that the Grand Ole Opry is the longest-running radio show in the United States? The atmosphere was electric, and we loved being part of such a historic venue celebrating country music.

Food was a highlight of the trip too! We indulged in classic Southern cuisine, from hot chicken to mouthwatering BBQ. We also enjoyed an Express Breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Antioch, which was a great start to our busy days. As of December 1st, 2024, the hotel allows you to leave your pet alone in the room for a short period as long as you notify the front desk, giving us added flexibility during our stay.

Another memorable moment was visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame, where we learned about the legends of country music and saw some fascinating exhibits. The energy of the city was contagious, and we even caught a glimpse of local artists performing at the famous Bluebird Cafe.

Overall, the weekend was a perfect blend of exploration, laughter, and music, leaving us eager for our next adventure!

Until next time, Ruff Explorers!
